Members

Here you'll learn how to see who's in the team, call a member directly, and (if you're an administrator) invite new members and change roles.

What is the member list?

The member list is the team's address book. You see everyone's name, profile picture, email, phone number, and role. The role controls what each member can do in the app.

View members

  1. Tap Team on the home screen
  2. Browse the list or tap a member to see more
  3. Tap the handset button to call. The app first asks if you want to call, so you don't dial by mistake.
  4. Tap the speech bubble button to write a text message
  5. Tap the email address to send an email
  6. Tap Save to phone contacts to add the member to your phone's own address book. The phone shows a filled-in contact card with name, phone number and email. Check the details and tap Save.

The role badge next to each name shows the permission level. On a member's own page you also see when they joined, which of their dogs are active for the team, and which weapons they have registered.

Roles

Administrators (full permissions):

  • Secretary
  • Team lead

Other roles:

  • Member
  • Guest hunter (see below)
  • Tracking service provider
  • Dog handler
  • Landowner
  • Non-hunting guest
  • Farmer

TIP

The default role for a new member is Member. Only set the role to Secretary or Team lead for those who should manage the team in the app.

Guest hunter

The Guest hunter role is for someone who hunts with you now and then but takes no part in running the team. They see far less of the app than a regular member.

Not the same as an external guest hunter

A guest hunter is in the team. An external guest hunter is not in the team, and is invited to a single hunt with a code. See Guest hunts.

A guest hunter can:

  • See the map. All markers, areas and lines are visible. A guest hunter cannot add, change or remove anything on the map.
  • See the hunts they are invited to in the calendar, and answer yes or no. The team's other events are not visible at all.
  • Chat in the chats they are part of. That means the chat for a hunt they were invited to, and any chat someone has added them to. The team chat is not visible.
  • Report observations during an ongoing hunt.
  • Share their dogs during an ongoing hunt, the same as anyone else.

A guest hunter does not see the notice board, tasks, contacts, documents, the gallery, expenses, the harvest log, statistics, game cameras, blocked periods, past hunts or team settings. Those tiles are not on their home screen.

A guest hunter costs nothing. The role takes no paid seat in the subscription. If ten people are in the team and two of them are guest hunters, you pay for eight. You can invite a guest hunter even when every seat is taken.

A guest hunter is not added to new hunts on their own. Other members are listed as "has not answered" on a new hunt until they reply. A guest hunter is not listed at all until somebody invites them. Open the hunt and tap Invite to do that.

TIP

If the person is to take a full part in the team, choose Member instead. If they are only joining a single hunt and should not be a member at all, invite an external guest hunter with a hunt code, see Guest hunts.

Invite members

Requires administrator role

Only secretaries and team leads can invite, remove members, and change roles.

  1. Tap Invite at the top of the page, an invite form slides open
  2. Enter one or more email addresses (separated by commas or line breaks)
  3. Choose which role the invitees will have
  4. Tap Invite at the bottom of the form to send

If every seat is taken, Guest hunter is the only role you can choose, because it takes no seat. To invite a regular member you first need to add a seat under Billing.

The invitee receives an email and becomes a member automatically the first time they sign in.

Manage pending invitations

Under pending invitations you can:

  • Resend an invitation if the email didn't arrive
  • Revoke an invitation if the person shouldn't join after all

Join with a team code

Requires administrator role

Only secretaries and team leads can create, rotate, or remove the team code.

The team code is a faster way to bring in new members than sending emails.

  1. Tap Team on the home screen
  2. Tap Generate code in the Invite code box at the top
  3. Share the code, the QR code, or the link with the person who is joining

The code is three letters and three digits, for example ABC234. Anyone with a Jaktli account and the code joins the team straight away, with the role Member. They can type the code in the app, point the phone camera at the QR code, or tap the link.

The code works until you create a new one or remove it. Creating a new code stops the old one immediately. Those who already joined stay in the team.

Seats in the subscription

Anyone joining with the team code becomes a Member and counts as a paid seat. If all seats are taken, nobody else can join with the code until you add more. Guest hunters take no seat, but that role can only be given through an invitation or by changing the role afterwards. See Billing.

Change role or remove a member

  1. Tap the member in the list
  2. Tap Change role to pick a new role
  3. Tap Remove member if the person should leave the team

Turning a guest hunter into a member costs a seat

A guest hunter takes no paid seat, but a regular member does. If every seat is taken the app tells you and offers to add one. Going the other way, from member to guest hunter, always works and frees a seat.

Removal can't be undone

When a member is removed, their access to the team's data is revoked immediately. They can be invited again later with a new invitation.

Team settings

Administrators can change the team's name, description, logo, and billing information from the Team Settings tile on the home screen. See Team Settings.
