Getting Started with Jaktli
Here we'll cover what you need to know to start using Jaktli: download the app, sign in, join or create a hunting team, and understand the roles.
On your phone or in a browser?
You can use Jaktli in two places with the same account:
- On your phone (iPhone or Android): download Jaktli from the App Store or Google Play
- In your browser: go to jaktli.se
Your settings and data are the same wherever you sign in. Many people use the mobile app in the field and the browser when sitting at a computer.
Create an account
- Open the app or go to jaktli.se
- Enter your email address
- First time? Create a password for your account
- Then sign in with your email and password
Forgot your password?
- Tap Forgot password on the sign-in page
- You'll receive a recovery code by email
- Enter the code in the app and pick a new password
Can't find the email? Check your spam folder. The recovery code expires after a short while, so use it right away.
Create or join a hunting team
Create a new team
After signing in:
- Tap Create team
- Enter the team name and an optional description
- You automatically become the secretary (administrator) of the new team
You can invite members during creation by entering their email addresses.
Join via invitation
If you've been invited by email:
- Sign in with the email address the invitation was sent to
- The team will appear automatically in your team list
Navigation
The home screen shows a tile grid with all features. Tap a tile to open the feature. The hero banner at the top displays the team name, current weather, ongoing or upcoming hunts, and pinned notices.
Features: Map, Calendar, Chat, Hunt log, Team, Contacts, Notice board, Tasks, Documents, Gallery, Expenses, Blocked periods, Weather, Game cameras, Billing, Team settings.
A live hunt is started from a calendar event or directly from the map; read more in Live hunt.
Customising the home screen
You can choose which tiles are shown and in what order. Tap the pencil at the top right of the home screen. Hold a tile and drag it to where you want it. Tap the eye on a tile to hide it. Hidden tiles are only visible while customising; otherwise they are gone.
Tap Done when you are happy. The layout is saved to your account and follows you to a new phone. To start over, tap Reset.
Roles
There are two administrator roles and several member roles:
Administrators (can manage everything):
- Secretary
- Team lead
Other roles (can view information and participate):
- Member
- Guest hunter
- Tracking service provider
- Dog handler
- Landowner
- Non-hunting guest
- Farmer
INFO
Only administrators can create group hunts and work days, create notices, invite members, manage documents, manage contacts, import GPX files and fetch property boundaries, and change team settings. All members can draw and edit map features (markers, areas, and lines), and create individual hunts, protective hunts, tasks, gallery photos, and expenses.
Guest hunters see less
Guest hunter is an exception. That role only sees the map (without being able to change anything), the hunts they are invited to, their own chats, and can report observations and share their dogs during an ongoing hunt. Read more under Members.
Not to be confused with an external guest hunter, who is not in the team at all and is invited to a single hunt with a code. See Guest hunts.
Switch language
Jaktli is available in Swedish and English.
- Open Profile (the person icon in the top-right)
- Scroll down to Preferred language
- Pick Svenska or English
The choice is saved on your account and follows you when you sign in on another phone or in the web app.
Help in the app
Need help on a specific screen? Tap the ? icon in the top-right corner. The documentation opens in your browser, on the right page for that screen.
Common questions are collected in the FAQ.
Profile and settings
In the top-right of the home screen there are two icons: a person icon opens Profile and an info icon opens Settings.
Under Profile you change your profile picture, name, phone number, and language. You also manage push and email notifications per team and category, export your data, and sign out.
Under Settings you read the privacy policy and terms of use, open the documentation, and send feedback. If you're an administrator, you can also delete the team from here.
See Profile and Settings for more.
