Data export

Here you learn how to download the team's data as one combined file. It is good to do now and then as a backup, or when you want to move the information to another program.

Who can open this page?

Requires administrator role

Only secretaries and team leads can make a data export. Other members do not see a button to it.

Done on a computer

The data export is only available on the web — that is, when you log in to jaktli.se in a web browser on a computer. It is not in the phone app.

Open Team settings on the web and scroll down to the Data export box.

How to make an export

  1. Tick what you want to include. Everything is ticked to begin with.
  2. Press Generate export.
  3. The file is prepared in the background. It usually takes about a minute, but many photos take longer.
  4. When the file is ready, a Download button appears. Press it to save the file to your computer.

You also get an email when the export is ready, with a link back here. So you can close the page in the meantime and come back later.

The file you download is a zip file. Open it by double-clicking it to see the folders and files inside.

What is in the file?

You choose what to include. The data is saved in common formats that are easy to open:

  • Map — areas, markers and lines (for other map and GPS programs)
  • Members — name, email, phone and role, as a table
  • Contacts — the team's contact list
  • Calendar — all events, both past and upcoming
  • Tasks — the team's to-do list
  • Hunt log — the hunts the team has had
  • Observations and downed game — what you have seen and shot
  • Harvest and meat distribution — weights and who received meat
  • Expenses — the team's costs
  • Documents — the actual files the team has uploaded
  • Photos — the images from the gallery
  • Forum: every topic and reply as tables, plus the photos in the posts

The tables (such as members and expenses) open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. A read-me file at the top explains the contents.

What is not included?

Some data is personal and is therefore not included in the team export:

  • Members' dogs and weapons — they belong to each person, not the team
  • Each person's own documents ("My documents")
  • Chat messages — private communication
  • Members' private details beyond name, email, phone and role

Good to know

  • The download link works for a short while. If it has stopped working, open the page again and press Download — a new link is created.
  • The most recent exports are listed at the bottom of the page, so you can fetch an earlier file again.
  • Old exports are cleaned up automatically after a while.
